Program Assistant - Sailing

The City of Lake Forest's Sailing Program (LFS) is one of the premier community sailing programs in the country and is accredited by U.S Sailing.
The Sailing Program utilizes a wide variety of fleet, such as:

• 420s
• Sail Cubes
• Zodiac hard-bottom inflatables
• Colgate 26

The boating center provides paddle boards and kayaks for rental to the community We have both a 420/Laser Racing Team and an Optimist Racing Team that travel nationally to compete in top junior events throughout the year.LFS is looking for a full-time Program Assistant who will manage the facilities and operations of the Community Sailing and Basin Programs at the Lake Forest Beach. The Program Assistant will lead the efforts to elevate the community's lake access as well as aid the sailing program in growing and continuing success. A successful candidate will have the ability to:

• Aide the water sailing and boating introductory instructions
• Plan and execute the hosting of events such as sailing regattas and community boating events
• Administer watercraft permits
• Manage operations of Launch Basin, Boating Center, and Boat Storage Areass
• Assist with planning of regatta, clinic hosting, marketing, & fundraising initiatives
• Complete other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree, preferred, experience may be considered in lieu of education
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role, specifically with boating and water safety and operations
• US Power Boating Instructor Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Possess strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work positively with residents and staff
