We recognize thirteen holidays annually and our centers are closed. Additionally, if the holiday falls on a weekend day, we will be closed the Friday or Monday closest to the holiday.
POSITION: Program Assistant, Part time, 29 hours, Monday-Friday
The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester seeks a part-time Program Assistant for our Harrington Clubhouse, located in Worcester. This is a 29-hour-per-week Monday through Friday. The Program assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of youth and implementing fun and engaging academic enrichment and recreational programs.
The Program Assistant will support the work of the Site Coordinator/Program Director and may participate in special programs or events. Under the direction of the Site Coordinator/Program Director, oversee the daily activities of Club members. Light maintenance and upkeep of program areas and the facilities will be required to maintain the cleanliness of the Clubhouse. May be required to lift up to fifty (50 pounds). Participation in other Clubhouse activities may be required, such as supporting our food pantry. Must have reliable transportation. Daily operational tasks might vary based on the needs.
Qualification requirements:
Experience: A minimum of two years’ work experience in an organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
Education: High School degree (or equivalent) required
Skills/Knowledge required in the following areas:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong computer/technological skills preferred
- Group leadership skills including an understanding of group dynamics.
- CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
