GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing academic support to students needing assistance with Mathematics courses, including developmental coursework, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics, College Algebra and Pre-Calculus. This is a part-time position working up to 8 hours per week.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide one-to-one Mathematics tutoring to students enrolled in CCCC courses.
- Assist students in using other academic support services (e.g. BrainFuse, MLC, additional CCCC tutoring resources).
- Track attendance for tutoring sessions and work with Program staff to proactively encourage use of tutoring services.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching or tutoring at the secondary or post-secondary level.
- Knowledge of effective teaching and /or tutoring techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with community college students, including students enrolled in developmental education classes, academically underprepared students, non-traditional students, and/or ESOL learners.
- Master's degree in teaching, mathematics education, or a related discipline.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: $32 per hour, up to 8 hours per week. Part-time, Non-benefited MCCC Unit Position.
