The primary role of the Family Foster Care Parent at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is to provide 24-hour nurturing care of foster children in a home setting. The Foster Parent will be responsible for meeting all children’s needs, including but not limited to, physical, mental, medical, and educational needs. This position will be supervised by the Foster Care Licensing Supervisor (Family Foster Care). The position is located on the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home main campus in Enterprise, FL and primarily serves children in Volusia and Flagler Counties. The position may also serve children from surrounding counties.

What You Need
- High School Diploma or the equivalent, preferred
- Experience serving children from the Foster Care community preferred
- Extensive experience caring for children and providing nurturing care
- Child Welfare Pre-service curriculum completion required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to train/teach children
- Maintain flexible hours, which will include evenings, overnights, and weekends
- Specialized knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to maintain a high-quality foster home
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to partner with Case Managers, birth families, Licensing Counselors, and community partners
- Excellent organizational skills
- Sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
