Position Overview:
As a Commercial Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in commercial facilities such as offices, retail spaces, warehouses, stand alone surgical centers, doctors/dentist offices, and other business premises. Your primary objective is to ensure that the assigned areas are clean, tidy, and free from hazards, contributing to a safe and pleasant environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning Duties:
- Perform various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen or breakroom areas, including countertops, appliances, and sinks.
- Wipe down windows, glass partitions, and other surfaces.
- Remove cobwebs and clean light fixtures.
- Spot clean walls and carpets as needed.
Maintenance:
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or repairs required in the facility.
- Notify supervisor of any supplies or equipment that need replenishment.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning tasks.
- Follow established guidelines for the use of cleaning chemicals and supplies, ensuring proper dilution and handling.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and clients regarding cleaning schedules, tasks, and special requests.
- Respond promptly to any customer inquiries or concerns.
Flexibility:
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to accommodate special cleaning needs or emergencies.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends (as needed)
- Show up to the site on time and complete the job in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Physical Requirements:
This job involves physical exertion, including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects. Candidates must be able to work on their feet for extended periods and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
