About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Summary:

IPSD has a great opportunity for a Production Technician II assisting in the assembly of diesel engines on our C13 Line. As a Production Technician II, you are responsible for assembling Caterpillar diesel engines, reporting to Section Managers, and meeting customer and company demands in our Seguin facility.

What you will do:

• Align and secure engine components per work instructions

• Install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components

• Ensure defect-free parts and materials in the assembly process

• Aid other departments in problem-solving and assembly-related improvements

• Handle shipping, receiving, and verify invoices for inventory accuracy

• Repack and organize parts for warehouse storage or assembly area delivery

• Operate forklifts and tuggers for material movement within the facility

• Submit and assist with resolving continuous improvement cards

• Follow standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions

• Provide process information to supervisors and managers

• Perform other assigned duties

What you will have:

• Strong teamwork skills

• Mechanical inclination

• Experience in assembly/manufacturing environment or an Industry Certification

What would make you a top candidate:

• Ability to read complex assembly instructions

• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

• Additional industrial equipment experience (crane, forklift, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

• Ability to perform repetitive operations

• Ability to lift at least 35lbs.

Additional Information:

• $18.50/hour starting payrate

• Monday - Thursday, 6:00AM - 4:30PM

• Training schedule may differ

• Overtime as required

• Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position
