Production Technician

The General Production Worker is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of services by following proper food protocols. This position must maintain a clean, safe work environment at all times, and help to ensure food safety and the safety of fellow employees. This position includes all skilled positions like Decanter, Porter, Verifier, and Leads which range from $14.50-$17.00/hr.

Duties/Essential Functions:

• Maintain appropriate packing speed
• Weigh all containers to their correct weights, and counts
• Transfer all ingredients to appropriate destination ensuring good housekeeping standards are met
• Perform general housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, etc.)
• Complete assigned work within scheduled time
• Review requisitions and batch sheets to ensure all items and quantities received are correct
• Clean machines and work area at the end of shift as applicable
• Notify Supervisor about equipment, safety and production problems
• Stack pallets at an adequate speed, and complete daily paperwork
• Utilize continuous improvement mindset, and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
• Follow all required safe work practices.
• Attend all required training programs sponsored by the company, safety meetings, GMP, Chemical handling, etc.
• May perform other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements:

• Willing and able to work flexible shifts and hours, including overtime, weekends and holidays
• Ability to effectively work and communicate in a team environment
• Physical, able to repeatedly stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, reach, also lift or move up to 75 pounds if necessary
• Ability to move wheeled cart weighing approximately 1200 pounds approximately 30 feet
• Ability to stand on production line for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in cold, wet and loud environment.
• Meet attendance expectations
• Must be 18 years old or more

Knowledge:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate alpha and numeric matching skills.
• Ability add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurements
• Ability to write and read English (preferred but not required)

Experience:

• No previous experience is required. Just a good attitude.
