This is a 1st shift position that reports to the Machining Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead production team to accomplish goals and objectives by:
- Ensuring work is performed in a safe manner and that all ZFHSE policies and practices are followed
- Ensure that product is produced in a quality manner and that all Quality processes and procedures are followed.
- Monitor productivity to ensure productions goals are met
- Ensure team is adequately trained.
- Establish a positive and cooperative employee environment regarding communications, feedback, and overall guidance.
- Foster participation and teamwork by encouraging employee involvement, soliciting input on process improvements, and using employee ideas whenever appropriate.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and activities of the team
- Monitor and deploy appropriate headcount needs to meet production demands
- Communicate daily production priorities
Requirements and qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership capacity, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment or recent engineering degree graduate.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to make quick decisions and respond to changing priorities and challenges.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Work Conditions:
- Majority of time spent on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection, also requires safety glasses and steel toed shoes
- Occasional weekends required
