Propulsion Controls Engineering has a current opening for a Production Support Systems Supervisor, onsite at our Bremerton & Everett, Washington locations.
PCE is an approved and recognized ABR with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), working as both a prime contractor and subcontractor for government ship repair. For more than 40 years, PCE has completed thousands of separate jobs and accomplished major system overhauls on virtually every class of ship currently operating in the U.S. Navy.

Position Summary

Responsible for the execution of the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) as required by NAVSEA Standard Items and ISO 9001:2015. Provides strategic direction, oversight, and smooth execution of all quality functions within the organization. Provides direction and supervises all day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with all federal regulations, audits, and inspections. Provides leadership for problem solving and facilitates continuous improvements. Supervises Environmental, Safety, Quality Assurance and Facilities in efforts to support production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the management of Quality Assurance to include but not limited to: Quality Management System (QMS) review, revisions and procedural relevance; Corrective Action (CAR) program; Process Control Procedure (PCP) program; Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) process; Internal and External Audits; Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) program; Calibration program; and the scheduling and execution of required inspections and ensuring full compliance and documentation of all Objective Quality Evidence (OQE).
  • Supports the management of Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) to include but not limited to: Safety and Environmental procedural and process review, revisions, and procedural relevance; Injury and claim reporting and tracking; Training needs, plans, and training budgets; Federal, State, and County environmental permits and permitting requirements; Emergency Response and Fire Safety programs; and manifest and hazardous waste disposal tracking.
  • Supports the management of Facilities to include but not limited to: building maintenance; facility budgets; company transportation plan and vehicle maintenance; and Company Tool Room and equipment tracking and maintenance.
  • Other duties as may be assigned
  • Ensures compliance of PCE’s Quality Management System (“QMS”), production standards and customer requirements.
  • Coordinates the daily activities/tasks of personnel in the Quality Assurance, Environmental Safety and health, Training and Facilitates departments in the course of their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Works with cross functional teams and collaborates with members of management and contributes to a team effort.
  • Provides employee training and technical leadership.
  • Plan, prioritize, schedule and monitor repair of facilities, vehicles and equipment to minimize business interruption and keep within budget.
  • Responsible for coordinating employee life cycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, training and corrective actions as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3 plus years’ experience (military/marine or ship repair industry preferred).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability and tolerance to meet due dates and deadlines and/or time constraints.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize Microsoft office applications.
  • Ability to resolve complaints and negotiate with others.
