Overview:
Collaborates with all levels of the organization to develop, communicate, and ensure compliance of company business, safety, quality, and production goals. Promotes Lean Manufacturing as well as hires, mentors and provides feedback and training to employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitors all team members to ensure PPE compliance, safe work practices and safe work environment.
- Provide leadership at the Tier Board meetings (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) ensuring data and information integrity, established metrics are reviewed; metric misses are addressed with countermeasures, root cause identification, corrective actions, with assigned responsibility and target completion dates. Confirm any support required is identified, verified, and escalated to Tier 4 meeting as appropriate.
- Holds regular engagements and GEMBA walks to facilitate achievement of production requirements, consistency, teamwork, and productivity/process improvements and confirms effective communication is in place through all levels of the process.
- Leads by walking around and monitors team to ensure a positive work environment. Addresses gaps in employee relations and work environment standards swiftly.
- Solicit from support functions recommendations for design and development approaches and improvements for tooling and tool utilization, production capable tolerances, equipment, i.e., fixtures, material handling equipment, production gages and inspection devise as required for new and existing production.
- Understands and supports quality policies and implements guidelines to assure adherence to quality documents and standards.
- Provide training and coaching to assigned process/team on lean tools and methodology. Work with Team Lead(s) to assess team talent and developmental needs creating and regularly updating skills matrix and training plans.
- Perform regular lean process audits to verify integrity of lean standards.
- Work with Team Lead(s) to direct production activities in accordance with the Master Production Schedule and establish priorities, ensuring maximum utilization of assigned resources, machines, employees, and materials.
- Assists team with the interpretation of procedures, methods and correct use of production equipment and verifies procedures are followed.
- Interview, set clear expectations, provide career development, resolve employee concerns, discipline, and evaluate team in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Change management leader who demonstrates our company's Cultural Pillars and able to drive the lean culture across the plant.
- Strong oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead, influence, mentor, coach and motivate skills at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic and tactful planning/organization and time management skills that will drive to deliver results.
- Analytically minded, data-driven, strong problem solving and project management skills to lead in difficult decisions. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and lead effectively own team as well as cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook as well as previous experience utilizing manufacturing software.
- General accounting knowledge helpful.

- Stoop frequently (up to 25% of assigned shift)
- Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% of assigned shift)
- Stand in one spot for long periods of time.
Education & Experience:
- Two-year degree in a business, technical or engineering curriculum or equivalent job experience. four-year degree preferred.
- Three to Five plus years work experience in a manufacturing environment required; Lean industry experience preferred.
- Three plus years supervisory experience in a Lean production work environment.
