Production Supervisor - Nights

Production Supervisor - NIGHTS, rotating 12 hr shift (36 hours one week, 48 hrs the next week), 7pm - 7am, every other weekend off.
Pay rate: $28-32 based on experience

Primary Objective: The requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversight of the production of saleable goods and to provide direction necessary to maintain standard cycles, safety and quality control. Work closely with shift Process Techs and Production Coordinators, supervise the training of the production staff.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to walk for 40% of a shift.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs. to shoulder height.
• Must be ble to occasionally sit and or stand, with or without an additional weight load.
• Must be able to visually inspect production pieces for quality defects.
• Must be able to use keyboard.
• Must wear proper protective equipment.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to maintain a good attendance record.
• Must have an intimate knowledge of all duties and responsibilities of the Production Coordinator, Cell Leads, Production Trainers and Inspector/Packer job descriptions.

It is expected that company policies and procedures will always be followed. The Production Manager, or designee, will be the first point of contact if any questions or issues arise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible, demonstrated through active engagement in safety activities and providing clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
• Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
• Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
• Communicate daily with outgoing supervisor and coordinator about open issues, ie. staffing and machine and materials performance.
• Report daily absenteeism to the management. Accurately tracks and documents team member absentees, tardiness and early departures within the HRIS (Paycor) system. Notes will be added to Timecard entries which are amended in any way
• Working with the Coordinator, update personnel rosters and oversee the placement of inspector/packers and floor hands, before the beginning of the shift.
• Ensure that the Production ticket process is being followed by everyone involved with it.
• Fill out daily Shift Summary, Scrap and Passdown reports.
• Verify all machines are running the correct job per IQMS/Summary and update as needed.
• Conduct and participate in performance evaluations.
• Ensure proper and continuous job training and development of all assigned employees.
• Actively leads risk assessments for their area of responsibility by driving corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
• Lead all required meetings (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General Communication, Town Hall, etc.)
• Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
• Motivate and coach employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identify and coordinate additional training as needed.
• Must be familiar with Injection and extrusion (Blow Molding) processes.
• Must be able to work additional/adjusted schedules as required.
• Audit Cell Leads to ensure the Insp./Packers revive their prescribed break and meals periods.
• Work closely with QA Inspectors and Production Trainers to ensure employees understand the level of quality needed to meet or exceed our set standards.
• Responsible for maintaining the areas around all machines in a clean, safe and manner.
• Other Duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor (or designee).

Qualifications:

• 5 years of related manufacturing experience preferred
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Understand, read, and write English; bi-lingual is a plus
• Strong supervisory skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions
• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
• Ability to follow directions carefully
• Ability to work quickly and accurately
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
