POSITION SUMMARY
Manages a production area in order to meet production schedules, quality, and cost objectives through subordinate team leader staff. Develops manpower requirements for assigned areas. Responsible for the direction and leadership of the production operations. Identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action, and directs the performance of program functional task elements such as quality assurance, safety, and training.
Requirements:
· Ensure team is adhering to safety policies while continuously pushing safety as a top priority throughout the Plant
· Identifies and communicates safety issues that impacts the Company
· Complies with establishes safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives
· Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and implement the Company’s safety policies
· Maintain production objectives to meet customer demand while balancing production costs.
· Evaluate various areas of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency
· Recognize and takes steps to resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on the operations
· Provides communication and dissemination of information amongst employees
· Cooperate with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship always exists
· Oversee and coach employees
· Provides leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
· Reviews the performance and personal development of all employees
· Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence with employees
· Supports and sustain a culture of continuous improvement (CI) across all areas of the Plant.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Some Technical/Mechanical education or experience preferred
Experience:
Min 7 years’ experience in manufacturing supervision (10+) employees, sheet metal preferred
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Have the ability to comprehend job training and safety instructions.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Order processing systems.
Certificates & Licenses
Driver's License, Forklift Certification helpful, but not required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Direct hands-on related experience in manufacturing operations with prior leadership skills in a team-based manufacturing environment.
