Summary:
Manufactures plastic jars and closures by supervising staff, organizing and maintaining work flow through the shift and department.
Responsibilities:
- Accomplishes manufacturing staffing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Provides expertise in set up and processing of hydraulic and electric injection molding machines, troubleshooting of molding problems, programming robots, set up of end of arm tooling, chutes and conveyor systems.
- Maintains department processes by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting or communicating production results to next shift supervisor and/or production manager.
- Maintains quality enforcing organization standards.
- Utilizes established processes for PM work orders through IQMS for presses, molds and auxiliary equipment to maintain consistent records of repairs
- Utilizes IQMS (ERP system) for entire production process.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
