Job Purpose
To ensure the continuous operation of the plant while maximizing efficiency, personal safety, and product quality. Assist in the planning, scheduling, production, direction, sanitation, training of team members, following and maintaining all regulatory agencies and customers’ requirements to produce and maintain a wholesome, safe, and quality product.
Education and/or other requirements
The successful candidate for this position demonstrates knowledge of potato or food plant production, including general knowledge of bacteriology, sanitation, and maintenance as typically acquired through 3-5 years of previous production work experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with management or supervisory training preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred. Must have the ability to work in an unstructured environment and can effectively give and receive constructive feedback. Excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and human resource skills are required.
JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_ Essential duties and functions_, pursuant to the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Monitor product quality and yield on a regular basis.
- Continuously monitor the systems, processes, and people to maximize conversion and yield while minimizing waste.
- Ensure that all products are processed according to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Shall be expected to set a proper example for all employees by his/her conduct in GMP, Safety, Personal Appearance, Quality Control, and Attendance.
- Monitor plant clean-up to ensure products meet bacterial specifications.
- Ensure the HACCP Critical Control Points are being properly monitored and take corrective action as necessary.
- Work with Maintenance Department and Operation Manager to ensure the continuous operation of the plant. Ensure the availability and reliability of equipment and notification of time to do preventative maintenance necessary to maximize production.
- Work with Operations Manager to ensure personnel policies are uniformly administered and necessary discipline issued in accordance with employee handbook.
- Work with Operations Manager to fill all manpower needs.
- Ensure that proper safety practices are being followed.
- Communicate operational problems and out of specification products produced and work with Operation Manger to develop appropriate action plans to resolve.
- Assist Operations Manager to ensure all production reports, labor tracking, timecard edits and approvals are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Work with Purchasing to maintain packaging and production supplies to insure uninterrupted production.
- Maintain an environment that fosters healthy employee relations within corporate guidelines.
- Performs additional job-related duties as requested or required by other members of management.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
