Production Supervisor
Description: The primary duty of the Production Supervisor is to plan and supervise the activities of his team in order to put out the quality products in the required time and in compliance with the customer’s expectations and the company’s standards. Plans, coordinates and controls all of the printing and finishing operations. Works with leaders to improvement results in the area of quality process and manufacturing efficiency processes. Verifies daily schedule verses reality and informs scheduler of any differences; Informs the employees of the specifications of the work to be performed, and of the customer’s expectations or special requests; Validate plan for next day’s work schedules; Takes the necessary steps to maximize the use of raw materials and minimize waste; Makes sure of the compliance with the health and safety rules in effect in the company, and actively promotes such compliance including the use of appropriate PPE; Participates in workplace inspections; Promptly investigates all workplace accidents and implement corresponding corrective actions; Make sure operating in compliance with both company and government environmental standers. Coordinate and supervises the work of employees under his control: Plans the manpower requirements and sets up the work schedules, including managing vacations and absenteeism; Look after the management of time-sheets and validates material posted to job. Ensures a pleasant work environment by promoting a respectful workplace and ensuring employees work together effectively; Make sure that the finished product comes up to the customer’s expectations and complies with the company’s quality standards; and that his team identifies all nonconformities and reports them to the parties concerned; determines what corrective actions are to be taken , and the delivery time required; Make sure the print equipment is kept in good working order and receives the proper preventive maintenance; Make sure that the company policies (including communications0, procedures, instructive, regulations in effect are complied with; takes whatever active is needed to correct all deviations noted. Requirements: 2 years working in a print manufacturing environment and a minimum of two years experience in a supervisor role; Experience working with printing and binding techniques, processes, products and equipment would be an asset (WILL TRAIN). Experience working with process improvement and uality control systems (WILL TRAIN); Demonstration of human relations, communications and leadership skills. This position starts at $20/hour.
