Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore's expertise covers the sourcing, production, and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Umicore's materials are at the heart of products we use every day such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints, and tires. Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impacts. To meet the demands of our customers we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways of doing things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.
As our Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for producing quality products that meet customer needs by managing a team of two or more members. Specifically, this will include:
- Scheduling team members;
- Daily planning of production activities to meet customer needs;
- Providing initial and follow-up training to team members to ensure qualification to perform necessary tasks;
- Promoting safety and housekeeping in all production activities; and,
- Following work instructions to manufacture products, perform initial QC tests, take samples for lab testing, and package and label products.
Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenges they face. As well as your high school diploma or equivalent, you should have the equivalent of five years' experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in chemical manufacturing with lead or supervisory experience. We'll also be looking for:
- Strong math skills with experience measuring volume and weight, calculating units of measure, and using fractions and percentages;
- Forklift experience;
- Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office applications;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Understanding of chemical reactions;
- Ability to train and lead a team;
- Strong organizational skills; and,
- Physical ability to wear a respirator, climb stairs, operate valves, and periodically lift 55 pounds.

This is a full-time working position in our LaVergne, TN manufacturing plant.
