• Reports to: Vice President of Exhibits and Experiences
• Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
• Pay rate: $16.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Studio Coordinator is a detail orientated, highly organized, and deadline-driven individual. The coordinator is responsible for assessing, calendaring, and fulfilling a wide range of production requests from multiple departments as they come into the Production Studio inside of Discovery World. This position is responsible for ensuring mutually agreed deadlines are met, requests have adequate material on hand for fulfillment, and ensuring the equipment within the Lab is kept in top working order.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for fulfillment of Production Studio requests as requested from multiple departments.
• Assists other departments with file modification, and parts production.
• Regularly meets with VP to review production calendar project status and pending requests
• Establishes efficient production schedules and ensures that project deadlines are met.
• Coordinates access to Production Lab equipment for other credentialed Discovery World staff.
• Establishes a preventative maintenance schedule, including cleaning, for all Production Studio equipment and lab tools, including, but not limited to laser cutters, 3D printer, and sample cutter system.
• Coordinates repairs and maintenance of equipment as needed.
• Monitors the inventory of department supplies used for production.
• Maintains and promotes a safe working environment.
• Ensures proper equipment and tool use and training protocols are followed.

• Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.): most of the workday.
• Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 lbs., or over 50 lbs. with assistance: sometimes.
• Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, etc.): frequently.
• Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, and noise: frequently.
• The normal setting for this job is: production lab, office, and museum environment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

Education and Experience

• 2 years' experience in a production lab-style environment (preferred)
• Valid Driver's License
• Exhibits excellent organizational, time management, and troubleshooting skills
• Developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Flexible and service-oriented
• A proactive approach to problem-solving

Other Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

• Experience with laser cutters
• Experience with 3D printing
• Experience with basic hand tools
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365 suite
• Working knowledge in CorelDraw, Fusion360, or Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (preferred)
