Job Title: Shift Operations Manager - Pistachio Plant

Job Overview:

As a Shift Operations Manager at our pistachio production plant, you will be a key leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing operations during designated shifts. Your role is critical in ensuring the efficient processing of pistachio products while maintaining high-quality standards and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

Follow and enforce all safety procedures in a proper manner.

Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.

Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPS) as indicated in Departmental Quality Systems

Lead and supervise shift operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient production of pistachio products.

Monitor attendance and late arrivals of all personnel.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets, quality benchmarks, and operational excellence.

Coordinate and participate in all production operational, quality, and safety training meetings.

Other duties may be assigned based on department and business needs.

Quality Assurance:

Implement and enforce quality control measures to uphold the highest standards for pistachio product quality.

Conduct regular inspections and work closely with quality assurance teams to address any deviations promptly.

Safety Management:

Uphold and enforce safety regulations to create a culture of safety awareness among shift personnel.

Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and drills to maintain a safe working environment.

Efficiency Optimization:

Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and maximize overall operational effectiveness in the entire plant.

Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.

Team Development:

Foster a positive and collaborative work culture within the shift, emphasizing teamwork and continuous improvement.

Provide coaching and training to shift personnel, promoting skill development and career growth.

Communication and Reporting:

Maintain clear and open communication channels with team members and other departments.

Generate shift reports, documenting production metrics, safety incidents, and other relevant information.

Problem Resolution:

Address operational challenges promptly, working closely with teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Respond appropriately to any “out of the ordinary” incident such as injuries, fires, major employee issues, regulatory concern, evacuations, etc.

Collaborate with maintenance and support teams to resolve technical issues impacting operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.

Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a food production or processing environment.

Strong understanding of pistachio processing operations, equipment, and quality control.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Familiarity with safety regulations and commitment to creating a safe working environment.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and make informed decisions under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
