AbelCine is a full-service equipment and technology provider to the broadcast, production, and new media industries. We offer sales, finance, training, rental, and tech services to our professional customer base with offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. We are currently seeking an Accounting Administrator to join our Production Services Department in our NYC headquarters.
This position is responsible for processing crew timecards, Production Services purchase orders, and invoicing Production Services clients. Projects may include multi-cam live and recorded events, specialized production support, on-site installations, and internal projects. The work requires knowledge and experience in the cinema and broadcast industry, strong communication skills, and extreme attention to detail and numbers. The Accounting Administrator will handle all the administrative and accounting details associated with each deployment and strive to ensure accuracy. This key position encompasses the following responsibilities:
- Lead billing admin for vendors, clients, and all outside partners; one of the key points of contact for the Production Services department billing
- Ensures the accurate completion of timecards
- Ensures accurate client cost per project
- Submits approved timecards to the client for final approval
- Invoices Production Services clients and submits invoices on client accounting portals
- Communicate with Production to finalize billing and payroll
- Creates POs for labor invoices and once approved submits for payment
- Provides the salesperson/ project manager with totals of labor costs when necessary and provides finalized show billing
- Process timecards and create POs for crew members on production deployments
- Submit expense reports, per-diem requests, and credit card reconciliation travel reports to Accounting
- Assists with booking travel as needed
- May perform other incidental tasks, as needed or as assigned
Successful applicants should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Undergraduate degree in Film Production or Media, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2+ years of experience supporting Labor Staffing in an entertainment environment.
- 2+ years of combined production and accounting experience
- Working knowledge of union and non-union staffing and accounting payroll practices and procedures
- Prior experience with negotiations
- Ability to multitask effectively; ability to understand and utilize complex payroll information
- Exceptional customer and verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in full Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint); Ability to learn proprietary software
- Leadership experience and strong experience working in a team environment
- Exceptional organization and planning skills
- High level of accountability, professionalism, solid work ethic, and emotional intelligence
- Ability to perform in events of changing priorities and ambiguity
Physical Effort:
- Sitting and standing work at a computer, requiring frequent use of computer monitors
- Manual dexterity and mobility
This is a full-time, hybrid, non-exempt position.
Compensation Range: 55K - 60K
