Job Summary:The Sanitation Technician is responsible for efficiently and thoroughly cleaning trolleys and containers during production as well as managing the inventory and quality documentation required for production. The sanitation tech will provide the preparation team with clean trolleys and the filling team with clean containers. The tech will be responsible for accurately reporting container and trolley cleanliness in both Redzone and S2k. The Sanitation tech will follow all Sanitation and Food Safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe production environment that meets and exceeds Company, customer, industry and regulatory standards and specifications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintain adequate supply of clean trolleys and containers for the respective teams that require them.
- Follow and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Assist with all sanitation duties.
- Assist with preparation team and filling team duties.
- Responsible for accurate completion of quality and inventory documents and records.
- Maintain a positive relationship between all departments and staff.
- Responsible for maintaining sanitation supplies / materials.
- Responsible for the grounds, machine cleanliness, and production surfaces in the facility.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility.
- Safely operate all sanitation equipment, to include brushes, air hoses, steam cleaners, water hoses, floor scrubbers, and all CIP equipment as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in Food Safety and prior CIP experience required, with a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required and used daily.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to follow all safety procedures.
- Must be able to work with extremely hot water and a variety of chemicals.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly.
- Willing to work as part of a team.
- Basic Computer skills preferred.
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and maintenance.
- Ability to operate automatic pallet jacks.
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Sanitation Tech is required to work on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat and/or cold, and may involve exposure to chemicals. The associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places, and has the risk of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises from production equipment and thus will be required to wear PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be high at times due to production and mechanical equipment noise.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be performed by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist and reach for long periods of time for the duration of the shift. The associate frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, sit, crouch, or crawl.
Associates must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull, and balance up to 100 pounds.
