Mission

As the Sr. Production QE/Production QE II, you will work with quality inspectors and the operations team at the assembly line to accomplish high-volume satellite production. The Sr. Production QE/Production QE II will also work with a multifunctional team like supply chain and customers to assure the satellites are delivered with 100% compliancy. The main mission is to identify and resolve non-conformities in accordance with the product requirements, driving thorough investigation with the support of engineering and other functions.

 

Your Day-to-Day

  • Work with production and quality inspection Teams to evaluate nonconformances and provide remediation guidance. Ensure nonconformances are systematically documented and followed up.
  • Facilitate and lead root cause investigations and definition of containment as well as corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform and maintain risk analyses, develop associated PFMEA and control plans.
  • Organize internal process audits to validate production process capability and identify weaknesses to drive positive change.
  • Validate repair instructions and execution when needed.
  • Perform quality gate reviews to ensure finished satellites conform to design configuration and specifications.
  • Interact dynamically with a multifunction group.
  • Be a liaison for customers on production Non-conformaces through the MRB process. Demonstrate professionalism in resolving customer concerns.
  • Provide back-up for other Quality Assurance Engineers as needed.
  • Complies with all safety and company policies.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Work on reducing KPI for Quality via CI.
  • Work on different CI projects for the Quality Organization in relation to the Operation Excellence team.

Your Profile 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or aerospace) or applicable STEM field is required.
  • At least 2-5 years in a Quality Manufacturing or equivalent role required for Production QE II role. At least 5 years in a Quality Manufacturing or equivalent role for Sr. Production QE role.
  • Exposure to quality management systems AS9100, IATF-16949 or ISO-9001 is a plus.
  • Ability to be an active team player in multifunctional Teams. Collaborate in a respectful, transparent, and productive way.
  • Ability to understand a process-based quality management approach. Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate groups, as well as influence peers.  Ability to prioritize within a fast-paced environment and support high-volume production conditions.
  • Understanding of or capability to utilize quality tools such as PFMEA, quality planning/control plans, statistical process control (SPC) techniques, root cause analysis and lean tools.
  • Ability to understand satellite systems and components. Knowledge of functions, signal and power analysis, product integrity requirements, and insertion loss.  Knowledge of aerospace conditions and effects to hardware including thermal (radiation and convection), vibration, and acceleration is a plus.
  • Preferred to have knowledge and/or experience with measurement tools and methods including: micrometers, calipers, durometers, X-Ray analysis, NDT, ohmmeters/multimeters, and oscilloscopes.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools or controls.  The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.  Based on the position an employee is occasionally required to stand for an extended period of time; walk; reach above shoulders; and stoop, kneel, bend, twist or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision.
  • Personal Protective Equipment many be required including safety shoes and glasses. Other protective equipment may also be necessary based on the specific task
