MISSION:

The mission of BAC Enterprises is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform work as needed for the Production Department Ensure that manufactured goods meet set standards and specifications. Conducts inspections, audits, and tests in order to verify that products meet required specifications. Train employees in Quality Control procedures to ensure these procedures are being followed correctly. Conducts regular counts on products produced.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.

  • Verify products meet specifications and standards.
  • Perform visual inspections.
  • Use measuring tools and equipment to check product dimensions.
  • Identify, document and report any defects or non-conformities.
  • Work with production lead and supervisor to correct any issues.
  • Record and maintain inspection data.
  • Ensure that all products meet safety and quality regulations.
  • Conducts regular audits of manufacturing process.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to management and team members.
  • Counts and documents productivity of each production worker.
  • Ability to learn each contract process and perform if needed.
  • Ensures that all tools needed for production are calibrated and ready for use.
  • Counts, documents and verifies any raw materials coming in and out of warehouse and production.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant experience in manufacturing environment.
  • A combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may suffice for the above requirements.
  • Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
  • During employment, will need to satisfy continuing competency annually. Training will be provided by the company.
  • Additional formal industry certification (s) may be required based on the area of assignment.
  • Must be able to obtain a certification for Forklift Operator within 6 months of employment. The company will provide training.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Forklift Certified
  • Experience with disability-service and multi-division organization.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Good communication skills, orally and in writing, to be able to interact effectively.
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Must be able to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Work at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical ability.
  • Effective interpersonal skills. Able to get along with diverse personalities and abilities; is tactful and professional.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and understand work instructions in English. Attentive to detail for quality performance.
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks.
  • Operate a Forklift in a safe manner.
  • Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule.

TRAVEL:

No travel is expected for this position.

SAFETY& ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Daily work will be mostly indoor in an air-conditioned environment in an office setting with some work being performed in a warehouse environment that is not air conditioned,
  • Employees may be exposed to high temperature, humidity, cold, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on the functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 40 pounds). May involve some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, crawling, walking, or standing. Requires manual dexterity to manufacture small and fragile components. Reasonable accommodation, when practical, can be offered to accomplish the above requirements.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
