SUMMARY:
The production planner is responsible for coordinating Production Planning for multiple products on multiple lines while maximizing performance and minimum delays in the process. The planner will use sales forecast data and customer demand for the optimal plan. The planner will work with material planners in supply chain to determine a successful plan for production based on materials on hand and on order. The planner will determine a long-term production plan and a firm 30-day production schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plan production workflow for various recipes/formulas
- Create and publish daily production plans
- Plan production for maximum performance with minimum downtime, in SAP
- Ability to plan production manually outside of SAP
- Be able to plan production when adverse situations arise
- Determine equipment needed to cover production demand
- Maintain information for department KPI’s
- Work with Production, Procurement, Material Planning, and Inventory Control for streamlined production plans
- Use the Sales Forecast to determine a Production Forecast and make updates when changes are made
- Maintain a long-term production plan and along with a firm 30-day production schedule
- Maintain a Production Schedule visible to Operations
- Create Process Orders to support planned production with line and machine assignments where applicable
- Manage Planned Orders and open Process Orders to keep SAP current and clean
- Provide input to the short-term and long-term material planner

Education and/or Experience:
- Associate Degree minimum
- Experience with computerized inventory systems
- Experience in Production Planning in a manufacturing environment
- SAP PP
- SAP Master Data
Computer and Technology Skills:
The successful candidate must be proficient in MS Office applications, SAP and or other ERP systems
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. German language speaking skills is another advantage.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
