Shift/Hours: Monthly Rotating Shift Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: $18.97/hr
Location: Houston, TX 77015
Experience: 2-3 Years
Production Operator Job Summary:
The Production Operator / Forklift Operator personnel are the designated assistants for the preparation of materials for the pre and post-production process as well as for the maintenance of the line equipment, building, and grounds.

Production Operator / Forklift Operator will also be called upon to assist when necessary in routine equipment maintenance, clean-up, and miscellaneous duties associated with the plant activities such as:
- Wet section upkeep
- Coating roll grinding
- Paint vault arrangement
- A variety of miscellaneous and minor jobs are associated with the upkeep of the facility.
The position mandates the use of cranes, forklifts, and hoists in the performance
of job duties.
The primary requirements for the Production Operator / Forklift Operator are:
- Communicate verbally and in writing with other departments of the plant concerning
- plant operations.
- May use computer to enter and retrieve information.
- Place cores onto arbor at exit end.
- Drive crane to various locations and set crane in position using all safety procedures.
- Use crane and forklift to load/unload and stock steel coils.
- Use bander, cutter, and packing materials to package/unpackage steel coils.
- Use shear tool to trim steel coils.
- Identify and verify incoming coils using computer data entry.
- Operate roll grinder machine to grind coating rolls.
- Read and comprehend instructions regarding new equipment, equipment changes,
- and/or procedural changes used in the area.
- Use tow motor to move drums of paint and solvent to/from paint vault and coating
- room.
- Use air wrench to remove lids from drums.
- Visual acuity to read and record coil weights, order numbers, etc.
- Handle scrap metal and packaging materials and place them in appropriate
- receptacles.
- Routine maintenance and clean-up of work area and equipment.
- Collect and record data as directed by management
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Gripping of various tools and packaging materials. Squatting. Climbing stairs, and stools
when necessary. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs from waist level when necessary. Walk
and stand for extended periods. Work from ladders and platforms at varied
heights.
