Third Shift, 23:00 – 7:00

Job Summary:

Tends equipment units and semiautomatic systems that process chemicals into intermediate or finished products. Adds or combines specified amounts of raw or intermediate materials into chemical reactors, heating vessels, blending tanks, etc. Operates valves to feed liquid and gaseous materials through equipment units, or sets controls in specified sequence on control panel to start, adjust or maintain automatic or semi-automatic operations. Have a detailed knowledge of reactor operations and the ability to operate the reactors in a safe, accurate and reliable manner; and the ability to run all reactor batches according to designated operating procedures without assistance; and the ability to conduct this operation in such a way as to foresee, avoid or correct all operating problems.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; they must have the ability to read and understand complex written instructions, and understand and do basic arithmetic. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee may frequently lift and/or move, pails, bags, boxes, equipment, supplies, and items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the use of fork lifts and other specialized equipment such as drum lifts, hoists, etc. as well as specialized tools. This position requires the ability to utilize specialized PPE. The employee will be exposed to a variety of weather related environmental conditions as this position requires interior and some exterior work during all seasons.

Basic Functions:

a. Operates valves and/or controls to maintain system at specified temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels.

b. Observes chemical reactions; monitors gauges, signals, and recorders; and receives notification from control laboratory, supervisor, or other workers to make specified operating adjustments.

c. Draws samples of products for laboratory analysis.

d. Maintains log of gauge readings and shift production.

e. Raw material handling

f. Batch Operations

g. Reactor Operations

h. Material storage and transfer

i. Setup (samples & standard product)

j. Assist in snow removal, salting & sanding as needed.

k. Proper operation of all tools and safety equipment associated with the performance of the Production Operator 1 position.

l. Knowledge of and compliance with applicable Safety requirements and programs.

m. Knowledge of and compliance with applicable Environmental requirements and programs.

n. Knowledge of and compliance with applicable programs related to Quality, and Operations such as ISO-9001, 5S, Responsible Care.

Production Supervisor or their designee.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42.60 per hour
