Since 1974, Hartford Aircraft Products Inc. (HAPI) has been a world class supplier of precision machined components, mission critical fasteners and turn-key assemblies servicing primarily the Aerospace sector.
In May of 2020 HAPI was acquired by a new ownership group comprised of a few Connecticut based Manufacturing entrepreneurs. We are actively looking for promising new employees to help us scale our business over the next several years.

We are seeking a CNC Lathe Operator for the first and second shift who looking to take the next step to own some success in helping to grow our company. This is a “hands-on” position that is very important to our organization.
This position will provide room for growth into a setup and or programming position and we will pay for experience and for an energetic, sharp attitude.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Machine aerospace and commercial parts to specifications using CNC 3 axis lathes & Multi-Axis, Twin Spindle lathes like Nakamura & Hardinge.
Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, specifications and blueprints.
Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
Efficiently set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
Position and fasten work pieces.
Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
Maintain records and documents in process inspection data as required.
Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision.
Able to measure using common shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close tolerances.
Troubleshoot, set-up, operate and measure machine.
Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
Participate in training as required.
Perform other duties as required or directed, whether or not specifically mentioned in the job description.
5-10% Domestic Travel required.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
Executes duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
High school Diploma or GED.
Basic reading, writing and some advance arithmetic skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering work instructions.
Ability to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and tools.
Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and computers.
Knowledge of Machine codes, G codes a plus.
Knowledge of Mastercam a plus.
