Water Science Technologies, a company of Italmatch USA Corporation, is hiring a Chemical Production Operator. The Chemical Production Operator mixes raw materials to create finished products according to batch tickets.
We are offering a 90-day probationary temp to perm position with a $5,000 retention payment upon completion of 1 year of service! Other benefits are available.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handling and managing hazardous materials.
- Forklift operations required.
- Loading and unloading flatbed and box van trailers, bulk tankers, and ISO containers.
- Assist in warehouse inventory.
- Set up and start all mixing tanks and blenders.
- Obtains and understands all documentation for making batches. Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch.
- Pumping and pouring chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities.
- Operates equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.) safely.
- Repackages bulk products into drums, pails, and totes according to repackaging agreements.
- Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the correct quantity and information on containers and containers are in good condition.
- Follows lab instructions regarding batch approval, adjustments, and any additional requirements.
- Cleans equipment when needed. Maintains appropriate level of housekeeping according to company standards.
- Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor person(s).
- Completes all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc.
- Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Able to perform these operations using weight and volume measurements.
- Able to manipulate 55-gallon drums, five and 7-gallon buckets, and powder bags up to 55 lbs.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Experience driving a forklift is preferred; a valid forklift certification is a plus but not required.
- Participates in ongoing safety programs, including safety meetings and training.
