Job Summary:
As the Production Manager at MML, you play a crucial role as an accountable leader in supervising the compounding and packaging processes of flavors to meet customer demands with approximately 20 direct reports. The ideal candidate(s) will possess strong organizational skills, strict attention to details, and an ability to coordinate and communicate cross-functionally to ensure efficient product preparation, mixing, spray drying, and packaging.

Direct responsibilities:
· Manages staff to produce manufactured flavor products and organizes and monitors workflow.
· Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, update reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments while focusing on the internal customer.
· Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
· Executes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
· Ensures operation of equipment by recognizing actions for repairs and evaluating corrective actions and countermeasures.
- Talent Management activities including coaching, development, HR compliance, talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and mentoring employees.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Area Supervisors, Planners, Maintenance, Sanitation, Mixers, Packers, to communicate production plans and address any issues or constraints. Coordinate Preventative Maintenance Opportunities to boost productivity via equipment availability.
- Risk Mitigation: Anticipate and address potential production disruptions, provide solutions to mitigate risks and ensure production continuity. Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze production data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators to make informed decisions and drive improvements leveraging various production systems (Vicinity, Solomon, Business Central, Safe Food 360, etc.)
- Communicate: Regularly communicates production updates, challenges, suggestions of opportunities for improvement and achievements to relevant stakeholders.
- Partner: Overlap with Area Supervisors and Inventory Management to monitor and control inventory levels to minimize excess and obsolete inventories while ensuring product availability.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar role within manufacturing industry accustomed to small batch processing.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with production systems software
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree. Preferably in Engineering, Business Administration or similar field
- Continuous Improvement Methodology
- Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Project Management experience
- Prior Chemical processing experience
- Prior Food Manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods at a time
- Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to consistently lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for entirety of scheduled shift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
