Personnel Management:
- "Hands on" involvement with assemblers, learning products and processes, working on continuous improvement
- Provide leadership, development and training to team leaders and their team members
- Conduct wage and performance reviews for Team Leaders
- Monitor performance evaluations for shop level employees for consistency and fairness
- Assist in the hiring and discipline of team members
- Conduct minimum of monthly meetings with team leader group
Production Operations:
§ Set and achieve goals for production
- Work with VP, Operations to set strategic direction
- Manage and participate in continuous improvement activities; continuously review processes and procedures to remove waste
- Learn, master and implement lean manufacturing principles
- Implement and maintain a robust 5S program
Operations:
- Track and meet production schedules and goals
- Set and achieve productivity goals
- Develop and maintain product time standards / operator cycle times
- Manage Material Handling Process
- Manage trailer unloading and receiving processes
- Manage the loading/shipping process
- Manage outbound freight needs and processes
- Manage pallet rack / warehouse organization / storage trailers / office /warehouse locations, etc.
- Manage forklift safety, training and necessary certifications
- Work with material handlers and shipping personnel to insure efficient flow of material for production
- Assist with plant tours, customer reviews as needed
- Assure compliance with applicable safety standards
- Participate in the implementation of E.C.O.'s
- Participate in the implementation of new projects and enhancements to products
- Assist in quoting new projects and specials as needed
Quality:
- Ensure products meet quality standards; shipping defect free products is the expectation
- Participate with the Quality Manager in implementing and improving the training program
- Ensure production is in compliance with ISO standards as well as customer certifications and/or other stated requirements
- Monitor work instruction accuracy; work with Quality department to maintain accuracy
- Participate in identifying and tracking component part quality issues
Equipment and Tooling:
- Recommend the purchase of new equipment including workstations, air tools, and other assembly and packaging equipment
- Assist with the installation and tests of new equipment and fixtures
Computer Systems:
- Assist with the implementation of automation (barcodes, automated systems, computers in the plant, etc.)
Other:
- Consistently work in a safe manner
- Maintain a professional attitude
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
