Metalex powered by UPG is looking for a Production Manager. The Production Manager must possess the desire and ability to provide leadership and supervisory coordination in all aspects of production. The person will be a true strategic partner in the Operations Division. Their role is for continuous plant improvement, employee development, and maintaining a cost-effective operation. The Manger will report to the Director of Operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Director of Operations to learn every and all aspects of the position.
- Manage all aspects of a manufacturing facility, which may include production, maintenance, tooling and support departments.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations; lead plant in all safety initiatives
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Quality to ensure customer demand and expectations are met; launch new products successfully.
- Execute LEAN continuous improvement projects to ensure ongoing productivity
- Track and report on plant key performance indicators (KPIs); analyze and develop plans to address issues.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience managing people in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Steel fabrication experience a plus.
- Previous LEAN/CI experience preferred
- Strong emphasis on Safety compliance and training.
- Ability to work with groups of people with varying levels of education, expertise, and backgrounds.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
- Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency.
