Responsibilities
Responsible for all production activities of the shift in order to build and ship those products to the customers. This position is critical to the control of production resources to assure the fulfillment of customer requirements.
Activities
Responsible for quality and delivery compliance. Activities will cover the full horizontal and vertical spectrum of the production line.
- Directly manages the entire manufacturing operations team. Oversee department production scheduling, forecasting, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Leads the manufacturing team in the planning, development and execution of both strategic initiatives and day-to-day production activities.
- Manages equipment, materials, and manpower efficiently to meet production targets.
- Monitors product quality throughout the production process to ensure consistency and meet specifications.
- Identifies and deploys effective tools and techniques, including the principles of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, to achieve continuous improvements in all operations.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of performance measurement systems that provide real KPI data for achieving improvements in productivity, quality, and costs.
- Provides leadership and support to production staff. Identifies training needs and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
- Build a high-performance team, setting clear expectations, and manage their performance effectively.
- Develops and implements follow-up procedures to ensure that identified equipment issues are addressed promptly. Establishes escalation protocols for urgent matters, ensuring swift resolution to prevent production line downtime.
- Works closely with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. Collaborates to minimize disruptions to production schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience manufacturing or operation related roles.
- Background and experience working in a PCB contract manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Prior experience fostering a culture of operational excellence.
- Hands-on experience implementing lean methodologies and practices.
- High-level leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- A strong sense of urgency and drive to succeed.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with diligent follow through.
- Ability to drive safety, quality, cost, and production initiatives through a multi-shift organization.
