We're looking for 2 full-time and 4 part-time Production Floaters to help support our commercial bakery team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with high attention to detail to assist with the preparation, baking, packaging and shipping of our organic, gluten-free bread and other baked goods according to company specifications. Previous experience in a bakery or food-related role is preferred but not required.

Full-Time, Production Floaterroles offer 8 hour shifts M-F and are eligible for company benefits.

Part-Time, Production Floaterroles offer flexible, 4-5 hour shifts in the morning, afternoon, or evening M-F. Weekend shifts also available. Ideal for college students, stay-at-home parents, and anyone interested in flexible, part-time hours.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Load grains into mill for milling into flour
  • Pull, weigh, and prepare ingredients for recipes
  • Clean and prep pans
  • Use digital thermometers to measure product temperatures
  • Maintain handwritten and/or digital records throughout production process
  • Hand-mixing starters and other ingredients prior to mixing dough
  • Mixing dough utilizing large mixers
  • Assist with dough weighing, shaping, and proofing
  • Load and unload strap pans into and out of ovens
  • De-pan bread
  • Use lot-code printer to code product packaging
  • Weigh and load bread before packaging
  • Package bakery products using a packaging machine
  • Package orders (box, tape, label, stage for UPS pick-up)
  • Receive raw materials and/or other deliveries into the warehouse
  • Replace/re-fill paper towels, baking paper, hand soap/sanitizer, etc.
  • Take out trash/green waste/recycle bins
  • Maintain and clean the kitchen, dishes/equipment, and facility areas

Requirements:

  • Speak, read, and write in English.
  • Must be able to work with and/or around food allergens (Coconut/Walnut/Sesame)
  • Always use good and respectful communication skills with team members, vendors and the public
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask
  • Have or be able to obtain ServSafe Certification (company paid) within the first 30 days of employment
  • Conform to company dress code
  • Daily health checks (temperature and symptom checklist)
  • Slip-resistant shoes must be always worn in the facility. (A $75 uniform allowance will be provided quarterly after completion of 60-day probation period.)
  • Maintain personal hygiene/clothing consistent with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Follow ALL Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Consistently follow Company and OSHA workplace safety requirements
  • Handle fast-paced, high volume commercial bakery environment
  • Be flexible to work at one task for long periods of time or switch tasks multiple times per shift to accommodate the changing needs of the bakery relative to staffing, priorities, etc.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures throughout the facility
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time in between designated breaks
  • Regularly lift 50 lbs or more (with assistance, as needed)
  • Wear company-supplied, appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and/or Food Safety equipment required for the role (i.e., mask, gloves, apron, etc.)
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
