Production Engineering Intern
COMPANY: AquaCal AutoPilot, Inc. REPORTS TO: Production Engineering Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Part Time/Full-time
Position Summary
The production engineer intern is a motivated self-starter who is disciplined, reliable and hard working. A focused, active, problem-solver, this individual combines a good technical and learning aptitude with perseverance, determination, and high-level critical thinking and analytical skills.
The Production Engineering Intern is an outstanding communicator with a positive mental attitude and is highly respectful of others, with the ability to always remain open minded and value other team members input and opinions when deciding best production/equipment related practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, evaluate, and analyze data to help implement solutions for improving current production efficiency and processes
• Design and implement production fixtures to aid in manufacturing
• Aid in new product release and support through implementation of best manufacturing practices
• Document current and new manufacturing processes
• Participate in problem solving and team Kaizen events
• Implement Lean principles and ideology
Requirements:
• Positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude
• College student seeking a BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Intermediate experience in SolidWorks or similar design programs
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel and Power Point
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Excellent analytical skills including problem solving and attention to detail
• Ability to grow and develop strong Lean Manufacturing methods through continuous learning
• Regularly required to stand for periods of time as well as reaching, kneeling, and climbing
• Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Mechanically inclined with hand and power tools
• Familiarity with manufacturing concepts and procedures
• Intermediate experience with PLC systems and programming concepts
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices
