POSITION SUMMARY:

Within compliance described by the company's policies and procedures and relevant regulations specific to the job, this position is responsible for effective in-house manufacturing processes and selection of vendors supplying engineered components. It shall define, measure, and report discrete performance improvements over this remit.

In addition, this position is responsible for developing and controlling department budget while projecting and providing approved changes to Department's capacity, e.g., Staffing and Equipment, outside the budget. Recording and maintaining records. Effectively communicate in verbal and written format. Communicating any problems or obstacles to senior management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manufacturing Processes. Supports manufacturing processes, ensuring equipment uptime, meeting production goals, and sustaining high product quality. It is not limited to developing work instructions, drawings, tests, assembly processes, fixtures, processes or specialized manufacturing and test equipment for existing or new products. Identify and drive cost reduction efforts to meet or exceed unit cost targets. Review Q.C. processes to have appropriate quality check points throughout assembly and recommend changes to Quality Opet.
  • Documentation. Prepares and maintains manufacturing documentation BOMs and Work Instructions) for new and existing equipment in manufacturing. Ensure product specific S.O.P's are written and dated {e.g. main harness routing, chronological step by step assembly instructions}. Works with Las Vegas and Sydney staff. Identify and document assembly improvement ideas. Write ECR's for design improvement related ideas, red line prints with recommendations.
  • Vendor Selection. Participate in the identification, qualification, and selection vendors. Lead projects and corrective action to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and achieve on-time delivery to meet production needs.
  • First Article Inspections
  • Manufacturing Facility. Responsible for new equipment introductions, process modifications and improvements. First point of contact for any assembly related issues. Root cause investigation, with corrective action plans and/or escalate to Project engineer or Product Manager if needed.
  • Liaison. This position requires ongoing communication and maintaining effective liaisons with local staff, other AGT entities and suppliers, providing design for manufacturing guidance, and developing/revising policies.
  • Coordinates with R&D to successfully launch new products into volume manufacturing. Participate in NPD {New Product Design} review. When possible, help drive product commonality, simplification, design for manufacturing and design for assembly.
  • Attend daily Production Meetings {In Person} and communicate design engineering related action items to appropriate design engineering personnel. Attend weekly meetings with reporting manager and provide status on all assigned projects.
  • Duties as assigned. Time to time, additional duties or responsibilities may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Manufacturing/Production Engineer or related discipline.
  • Familiar with statistical methods, 6-sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of most of the following commodities:
    • Circuit Card Assemblies,
    • Aluminum Extrusion,
    • Plastic Extrusion,
    • Sheet Metal Fabrication,
    • Machining,
    • Injection Molding,
    • Aluminum Casting,
    • Wire and Harness Assembly, and
    • Mechanical Assembly and Test.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers.
  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.

Experience

  • Must have a background in manufacturing and engineering environments with business acumen.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Pronto)
  • Experience with 3d modeling CAD, {SolidWorks preferred}.
  • Lean manufacturing background and a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Control functions efficiently to meet business objectives.
  • Root Cause analysis, interpret and create manufacturing drawings.
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems {Preferred}
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems {Preferred}
  • Familiarity with ECR/ECN processes {Preferred}

Environment

  • Generally, works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting with variable temperatures.
  • Lifting may be required on occasions but not to exceed 40 pounds.
  • Travel - Occasional, upon business needs

Successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming License.
