Dentsply Sirona's Waltham, MA location is looking for someone to join our team as a Production Control Technician on 2nd Shift. This position is scheduled to work 11:00-am - 7:30pm.

General Description of the Position:
The Production Technician (PT) will use manual and semi-automated processes to produce the Atlantis abutment and related products.
This job description applies to employees in the following work centers:

  • Order Verification (OV)
  • Scanning
  • Lab Services
  • Diagnostics
  • Marry Up
  • Product Verification (PV)
  • Shipping

The PT will be assigned a work center where she/he will learn the basic requirements of the Quality System, all relevant policies and a core curriculum of work instructions. The assigned work-center could be any of the areas described above.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture products using detailed instructions in full compliance with all FDA regulations and ISO & Quality requirements, in conjunction with all internal policies.
  • Interpret customer requirements and document/communicate findings as needed.
  • Process customer material and internally produced products in compliance with established quality standards and instructions.
  • Interact (extensively) with production software for all aspects of record-keeping, job assignments and material information.
  • Participate in Lean process improvement activities including idea generation, root-cause analysis and solution implementation. Responsibilities could include leading Lean manufacturing project teams.
  • Maintain the work-center in accordance with established 5S principles.
  • Develop skills and knowledge required of position through training.
  • Interact with co-workers, employees in other departments, managers, and support engineers as needed.
  • Proactively seek additional tasks as conditions warrant.
  • Comply by all standard SOP and Safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager (cross departmental activities can apply).

Levels
Employees will be designated as: Production Technician, Level "X", where X is defined below:
Level 1 - Employees are hired into PC as a trainee and will be assigned to a work-center for the training period. During this period, their work will be overseen by a co-worker or dept. lead as designated by the trainer. In addition to the full set of SOPs for that work center, the employee will be fully trained in the core quality, production, safety and other SOP's and policies as designated by the Quality department.
Level 2 - Once all relevant standards are achieved and the employee meets the minimum productivity standards as well as other requirements set by the trainer, the employee can be promoted to Level 2. Level 2 employees can work in the work center in which they've been certified without oversight. At this point he or she can begin training in other work centers within the Production Control department. During any training program, the employee must work under the oversight of a coworker or lead designated by the trainier. Once trained, and deemed certified by the trainer, the employee can work in the work center without oversight. This cross-training can continue until the employee is trained in all work centers in the department or interdepartmental.
Level 3 - Once an employee is fully trained in 4 or more work-centers and can train one or more disciplines in the Production Control area and meets all the additional requirements as established by the manager, she or he can be promoted to a Level 3.
Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of related experience

Qualifications:
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Able to perform accurate measurements, in some cases using a microscope.
  • Computer literate. Able to use standard computer applications and interact with a computer for data entry and other reasons.
  • Willing and able to follow company procedures and quality system regulation.
  • Read, write and speak in fluent English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs (15 percent of the time).
  • Ability to work unscheduled overtime required, at times.
