What You Will Do
The Operational Readiness organization within the Weapons Production Directorate at Los Alamos National Laboratory (TRIAD) is looking for an exceptional Operation Support Specialist to join the Supply Chain Management Group (SCL-2). In this role, you will effectively and compliantly manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Laundry at TA-55, RLUOB, RLW, TWF, RANT/WCRRF and CMR for the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP). You will utilize multiple inventory management systems to maintain and verify inventory levels as well as manage centralized distribution and assignment of PPE lockers. You will ensure change rooms are decluttered, organized, and stocked daily. Comply with institution controlled storage procedures, P330-11, 12 and 13. Responsible for locating, pulling and staging material for programmatic and maintenance related activities. You will maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining a clean receiving area; comply with procedures, rules, and regulations; work cohesively in a team environment; provide high level of attention to detail; and exhibit strong organizational skills.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Material Management:
Demonstrated ability to manage material in accordance with applicable quality assurance and industry standards.
Customer Service:
Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting with customers in a customer service-related setting.
Business Systems:
Above average computer skills and demonstrated experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems, and proficient in various software suites, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access
Communication:
Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating both written and orally with customers in a customer service-related setting. Ability to proactively work to assist others in achieving the organizations objectives. Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations.
Organizational Skills:
Possess high attention to detail including strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, observation skills and problem solving skills. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic environment.
Work Environment:
Ability to work cohesively in a team environment that encourages collaboration with fellow team members to contribute to the efficiency of the facility.
Education/Experience:
Position requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Additional Education and Training/Certifications:
- Ability to obtain Q clearance.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license.
- Enrolled in HRP.
Special Skills:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with logistics and production planning concepts. Experience managing material in a nuclear environment with the ability to learn basic safety requirements needed to work within a Radiological Facility. Awareness and willingness to learn supply chain management practices. Candidate must be organized, focused, motivated and reliable.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance:Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
