Job Description
As the Production Control Specialist with Kadant Black Clawson, you will develop and deploy scheduling strategies for capital equipment jobs, complex repairs, and other orders that require an extra level of oversight. In this role, you will be responsible for production scheduling, quoting, order release, manufacturing, and shipping to ensure customer ship dates are met. Other responsibilities include:
- Verify planned order labor and material requirements to support on-time delivery.
- Generate and manage work orders for each production task of job.
- Works closely with IT and Operations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Analyze production capacity and potential constraints.
- Generate engineering file for manufactured parts as required.
- Update work centers and calendars within ERP (Epicor) system.
- Facilitate daily planning review meetings.
- Support capital equipment orders to ensure engineering releases and part level releases are made.
- Schedule jobs as required to support sales order requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in related field required, bachelor's degree preferred
- 5 to 10 yrs. Industry experience
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & MRP systems is required, preferably Epicor
- Technical background and a working knowledge of AutoCAD and excellent math skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, and ability to read and interpret blueprints
