POSITION SUMMARY*

The Production Bagger/Operator is responsible for efficiently and accurately operating bagging machinery within a produce manufacturing plant. This role involves ensuring the proper packaging of various produce items, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The Production Bagger/Operator plays a crucial role I the overall production process, contributing to the successful packaging and delivery of high-quality products to customers.

*
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

• Familiarity with all applicable equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items.
• Operate bagging machinery to package produce items according to established specifications.
• Has working knowledge of the Matrix System and Yamato Scales.
• Has the ability to make minor adjustments and repairs using appropriate tools.
• Maintains the flow of production, removes defects from production line.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Ensure all documentation is completed in a clear, legible and accurate format and completed with the required information I accordance with SOP’s.
• Ensure all SOP’s are followed
• Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
• Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Follow all required work safe practices including the wearing of PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
• Responsible for food safety, [pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.

Quality Control:*

• Conduct regular quality checks on packaged products to ensure they meet company standards.
• Identify and address any deviations from quality specifications promptly
• Collaborate with quality control team to implement corrective actions as needed.
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices at all times
• Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe work area

Packaging and Labeling:*

• Ensure proper labeling and packaging of produce items in accordance with company guidelines
• Weigh and measure products to meet specified weight requirements
• Coordinate with packaging team to maintain an efficient flow of products through the production line

QUALIFICATIONS*

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work in a wet and cold environment
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, second shift, and possible weekends and holidays
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to stand, walk, push or pull a majority of the day
• 1-2 years of experience with the Matrix System and Yamato Scales
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divie in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Skill and ability to manage multiple/parallel projects and meet deadlines
