Job Description:

Each motorized retractable shade is made to order by hand here in our East Plano warehouse. Every order is given excellent attention to detail as we pride ourselves on the quality of our product.

This position requires someone with excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently while in a team setting, and reliably attends scheduled shifts. This person will need to be able to work quickly, ACCURATELY, and without micro-management. Organization, consistency, and reliability are a must.

This is a Full-Time position, Mon-Fri (40hrs/week), 7a-4p, with an alternate schedule available from 6a-3p after a probationary period and mastery of the position requirements.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Preferred

• 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment
• Basic math skills
• Ability to use a tape measure and to read measurements accurately
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day
• Ability to work standing 8-10 hours per day
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. The warehouse is fully sheltered, but is not climate controlled. We provide fans/heaters as the weather requires and allow for heat breaks inside the office as needed.
• Proficiency with handheld power tools, particularly handheld drills and box cutters
• Excellent attention to detail. Our product is custom made and there are no standard sizes or standard accessories. Each order requires careful review throughout the production process.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with others
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities/assignments
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, respect towards fellow co-workers is the standard at Universal Screens
• Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

• Assembles product parts by hand.
• Uses power tools to cut, drill, and attach parts.
• Affixes labels, company logos, and other exterior details to products.
• Inspects assembled products to ensure they are up to quality standards.
• Maintains a workstation that is clean and free of hazardous materials.
• Addresses problems with production equipment and machinery and fixes them as needed.
• Cleans equipment.
• Observes and removes faulty product parts from assembly line.
• Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment.
• Keeps factory floor clean.
• Unloads, organizes, and stocks shipments.
• Adheres to all safety guidelines dictation the production and handling of materials in the factory.
• Ensures that all production deadlines are met.
• Reports issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
