Job Title – Production Accountant
Location – Mid-Wilshire
Pay Rate - $80,000-$100,000/year.
Job Status (Direct Hire/Temp) – Direct Hire
Job Site Status (Onsite/Hybrid/Remote) - Our client has a hybrid schedule of up to two (2) days in the office.
Job Description - Our client, an entertainment-oriented company headquartered in mid-Wilshire, seeks to hire a Production Accountant on a direct hire basis.
The hired candidate will handle all production accounting duties on a day-to-day basis, along with some General Ledger duties and a smattering of non-accounting tasks.
You will report to the Director of Finance.

DUTIES OF THE PRODUCTION ACCOUNTANT
Production Accounting
· Manage all financial accounting records during entirety of the production (pre-production, production, post-production, and wrap-up)
· Work with all production staff and producers (line/supervising)
· Coordinate monthly accounting for production and program costs by event
· Assist in all Estimate to Completion (ETC) and Estimate to Final Cost (EFC) figures, actuals, accruals, and amortization of expenses
· Analyze project costs (budget variance analysis) for overruns
· Suggest process improvements
· Assist with weekly freelance payroll approval process on each event
· Work with Production Finance and third-party vendor to ensure timely and accurate review, payment, and funding of freelance payroll
· Assist with monthly cost reports, revenue review, and flash reporting
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
· Input journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, prepaids, and reversing journal entries, if necessary, in accordance with GAAP
· Prepare reconciliations (account and bank)
· Help execute all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings of the accounting books
· Maintain financial schedules
Operational Accounting
· Review all expenditures for hospitality and ticketing
· Reconcile credit card expenses
· Review all expense accounts
· Review invoices
· Track and follow up on all outstanding invoices
· Respond to payment inquiries by vendors
Miscellaneous
· Review contracts
· Assist with audits (external and internal)
· Assist with internal controls compliance
· Accept any other ad-hoc projects as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PRODUCTION ACCOUNTANT
Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent major
· At least three (3) years of production accounting experience with appropriate progression in your career
· Production accounting and/or job costing experience
Preferred
· A CPA
· Entertainment or media industry experience
· Entertainment payroll experience
SKILLS OF THE PRODUCTION ACCOUNTANT
Required
Technical
· Expert-level MS Excel skill set (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas, data validation, reconciling, etc.)
· Experience working with a major cloud-based ERP system

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify accounting issues and make all necessary changes
