This is a non-supervisory role that is responsible for supporting Product Engineering department in research, design, drawings, and documentation to support the needs for all new product and product improvements. Relocation assistance is not budgeted for this position.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports directly to the Manager, Product Engineering
Accountabilities
Support teams in relaying product information associated with new product introductions, changes, and deletions.
Create, modify, and approve production drawings.
Design, draw cabinet components in 2D and 3D formats.
Utilize Boolean logic in development of drawing libraries.
Lead/participate in product-related lean and continuous improvement projects as needed.
Support and promote the Four Basics: Safe and clean workplace, Quality at or above expectations, Complete on-time delivery, and Fashionable products at a fair price.
Consistently demonstrate the Six for Success: be trustworthy, commit to your team, listen to understand, serve your customer, prepare and plan, deliver the result.
Perform other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion priorities.
Qualifications
Characteristics & Attributes
Software knowledge: Proficiency AutoCAD, 3D Inventor, CAM/CIM (Microvellum), and Microsoft SharePoint.
Understanding of ERP software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects while functioning in a team-oriented, fast-paced, matrix environment.
Strong project management skills.
Strong communication skills - listening, verbal, written and presentation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the company and foster teamwork.
Ability to be self-starting and self-directing with limited supervision.
Education & Experience
A 2-year degree in Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2-4 years of related experience is preferred, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
