FUNCTION:
Performs and utilizes multi-craft mechanical and electrical/electronic journeyman skills to preserve and/or optimize plant assets and manufacturing requirements react to process, equipment, and utility issues, preventative and predictive maintenance, and eliminate special cause variation while driving safety, quality, and optimizing plant efficiency. Provides support and leadership to other craft and non-craft employees in the performance of maintenance tasks. Cooperates with others in performing duties. Performs duties in specialty areas as trained and assigned. Responsible for the work performed in lower skilled jobs when performing the craft function.
DUTIES:
- Is accountable for performing precision work utilizing machines, equipment and measuring instruments of this multi-craft function.
- Performs and utilizes multi-craft mechanical and electrical/electronic journeyman skills in reacting to process and equipment issues, utility, pneumatic and hydraulic, preventative, and predictive maintenance, total productive maintenance, and the elimination of special cause variation while driving safety, quality, and optimizing plant efficiency.
- Leads, assists, performs the duties of and performs the role of trainer for production and other craft personnel (including, but not limited to, participation in the execution of training other plans, providing input for training records and the determination of qualification status for each employee, etc.) relative to craft tasks and/or functions.
- Operates, performs OSHA inspection/test on, and maintains; tools, ladders, and equipment used in the performance of mechanical or electrical/electronic services work.
- Utilizes computer expertise to complete records/reports (including, but not limited to, work orders, inventory, failure analysis sheets, checklists, requisitions, OSHA records, audit sheets, etc.)
- Cleans anything related to the craft functions and/or performing said functions.
- Utilizes electrical/electronic skills using the tools of the respective trades. Assists in maintaining substations and allied equipment.
- Inventories parts and equipment, requisitions and procures items for storeroom or other areas and maintains adequate mechanical/electrical/electronic supplies and repair parts.
- Transports minor and/or portable equipment, parts, supplies and furniture as directed.
- Performs general cleaning in the department’s common areas to maintain standard level of cleanliness (including, but not limited to, restrooms, offices, etc.)
- Prepares surfaces for and applies paint and other protective coatings to equipment, floors, building facilities, etc.
- Participates in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by Management.
