We are seeking a professional like you, with a strong chemical and technical background, who is curious, flexible and has a growth mindset to add value for BASF. The Product Regulation Specialist is responsible for supporting BASF group businesses, primarily the PMN business, by ensuring product compliance to International, Federal, State, and local regulations through the North America GBP/U services team. A critical aspect of this role will be digitalization and a desire to expand in this area for product regulatory, as part of this role will be devoted to improving the overall teams' automation and applications for efficiency and effectiveness.
As a Product Regulation Specialist, you create chemistry by...
  • Assuring compliance for assigned products with US, CA, MX, and internal BASF global regulations.
  • Monitoring and managing data requirements and compliance documents in support of colleagues in business and within Global Business Services, as well as support of the Global Trade System (GTS) and control activities in SAP for local regional, and global regulations, including GTS classifications.
  • Maintaining GHS classifications and authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and label raw reports.
  • Being involved in workplans and demand planning, providing core support and upkeep of monthly workflow tools, either used within the business or in the service team for management of change processes.
  • Developing/seeking and improving digitalization in the team and supporting the overall teams' automation and applications for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Working closely with the team coordinator and team members supporting the assigned business. This includes scheduling business meetings, troubleshooting regulatory issues for the business, and supporting business specific or group specific initiatives, including customer support.

If you have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other technical fields
  • Product regulation and/or product safety knowledge
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • SAP or other ERP systems knowledge is a plus
  • Digitalization knowledge and capabilities (Power BI Applications, Excel programming with macros and/or other programming language skills) is a plus.
  • Previous SDS Authoring experience is a plus.
