As a Product Owner (PO), you will utilize your business analysis expertise, delivery knowledge and strong communication and organizational skills to help project teams solution, define and deliver new products and features. The Product Owner is responsible for defining requirements and prioritizing the product backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team.

The ideal candidate will require a high degree of skill in converting business priorities into product backlog and user stories that align with business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Represent the needs and desires of the stakeholder community to the delivery team
• Represent the work of the delivery team to the stakeholder community
• Define EPICs and Features based on agreed upon scope or Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
• “Own” the solution; responsible for ensuring vision/roadmap defined by Product Manager/Strategist is being built
• Work with cross-functional team in planning a product/project release
• Gather requirements from client or proxy for client
• Collaborate with User Experience Architect (UXA), Designers and Technical Architects to develop product solutions to meet requirements
• Facilitate elaboration sessions and grooming sessions
• Gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions
• Create and manage user stories
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog
• Groom user stories in preparation for development
• Work closely with dev team to ensure they understand what each item in the product backlog is and why it is important
• Prioritize defects or bug resolution(s)
• Demo user stories to client with or without the developer
• User Story acceptance (reviews completed development to determine if it is “done”)
• Provide SME expertise/support to Development and Testing teams

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner/Manager or Business Analyst for digital products or programs
• Expert at eliciting requirements and creating user stories to document those requirements
• Experience creating business process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams
• Clear understanding of user interface (UI) and the basic principles and design qualities shown to make web applications easier to use
• Technical background or passion for and ability to understand technical solutions and architecture
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to present to both business and technical teams and to all levels of management
• Ability to inspire a team and drive results
• Highly organized, excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Ability to understand the scope of development work and to collaborate with the Tech Lead to assist with decision-making and sequencing of work items
• Ability to make timely decisions; Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
• Complex thinking, analysis and decision-making skills; identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
