We are looking for a Product Engineer to join the Product team focusing on the pricing platform. The pricing platform is a global digital product that is critical for defining and maintaining the integrity of product pricing for products and services that Tesla builds, offers, and sells. This platform provides pricing valuation, methodologies, algorithms, and analytics for our vehicle, service, and energy businesses by bridging what our customers see and buy with our internal applications and teams such as options, product programs, demand planning, material resource planning, matching, order management, accounting, FP&A, tax, inventory management, sales analytics, and revenue management. This Product Engineer will focus on delivering a highly scalable pricing platform that enables growth of products and services as Tesla enters new markets, expands its product portfolio, and builds more factories.
- Define and deliver product vision, strategy and roadmap as it relates to building smarter and more efficient pricing applications across the stack as well as leading initiatives to improve customer price awareness and education
- Work cross functionally between Product, Design, Engineering, QA and Production Support teams to facilitate and own product development, timelines, vision, roadmaps, and execution
- Work with growth and analytics teams to improve customer price awareness and education
- Work with finance and sales stakeholders to drive customer product initiatives
- Use agile principles to write user stories, plan, and drive the software development of features
- Define and enhance KPIs in conjunction with analytics and stakeholder teams that educate business decision making
- Willing to work hard and can thrive in fast-paced environments and value product quality and impact
- 2+ years of full-time product manager experience, with preferred experience around financial applications or equivalent experience in engineering, economics, or mathematics fields
- Ability to synthesize complex strategic and operational needs across the company while considering both customer value and future growth
- Experience leading cross-functional product initiatives from kick-off to ship with high sense of ownership, including working directly with engineers to drive planning and execution
- Strong analytical skills to understand data-driven methodology, recognize trends and patterns, and derive data-based insights, including comfort with very basic SQL / no-SQL querying
- Entrepreneurial instincts with clear bias for informed action and track record of leading new initiatives with limited resources and support
- Ability to successfully work and manage relationships with range of teams including engineering, UX, legal, finance, sales and operations, and different product teams
