Role Summary:

Panther Life Sciences is looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our team! This role is based in Pittsburgh.

The ideal candidate for the Product Development Engineer on our team will be goal and data-driven and experienced in the medical device or biotechnology industry. Ideally, this new team member will come in with experience in the technical development of biological agents, delivery mechanisms, and bringing new products to market through commercial launches and/or first-in-human studies.

Role responsibilities: This role will work closely with our Senior Director of Device Development to:

• Construct and refine 3D CAD models, draft technical drawings, and engage with suppliers to facilitate the creation of initial prototypes, final production components, and the establishment of manufacturing techniques.

• Formulate testing procedures, compile detailed reports, and craft engineering overviews, leveraging a strong foundation in technical documentation.
• Assess user requirements, compliance with standards, and risk assessments to establish design criteria and engineering objectives that incorporate principles of manufacturability, ease of assembly, and compatibility.
• Perform process development studies in collaboration with production partners, maintaining a flexible approach to design strategies that enhance internal and external production capabilities.
• Engage in partnerships with academic entities to advance diverse technological applications.

• Construct and present PowerPoint presentations that articulate technical design evaluations to interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications:

• Experience in design for manufacturing and developing manufacturing processes

• Experience in common manufacturing processes including 3D printing, machining, etc.
• Hands-on experience with process development, optimization, and execution
• 2+ years of experience building and designing consumer devices or previous experience in device development
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in SolidWorks
• Experience in Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Works well in a team-based environment and able to complete individual tasks
• Excellent organization and time management skills

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
