Job Description: As a Product Designer for the Access-a-Ride Paratransit App, you will be a key touchpoint for the Agency team. Your role will involve developing and improving the app, incorporating major features such as Taxi Authorizations, Taxi Reimbursement Module, Customer Information Availability, Agent Login Functionality, Incentive Program, Helper Text (Info Box, Map, Customer Support Page, Customer Ratings, Administrative Module Access User Roles), and more. You will be responsible for ensuring that the design and user experience align with stakeholder needs, market research, and accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· User Experience Design: Craft intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, focusing on enhancing the overall user experience.
· Design Development: Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity designs, integrating feedback from stakeholders and users.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the product management, engineering, and QA teams to ensure design specifications are implemented accurately.
· Research and Testing: Conduct user research and usability testing to refine and validate designs.
· Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all designs meet WCAG guidelines and Agency’s accessibility standards.
· Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to the Agency team and other stakeholders.
Technical Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Product Designer or User Experience Designer, ideally in a technology or transportation context.
· Strong portfolio showcasing skills in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
· Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar.
· Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and experience in designing for accessibility.
Preferred Skills:
· Exceptional visual and interaction design skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
· Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
· Experience with user research and usability testing.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.
