Product Design Engineer E1

We are excited to be adding a Product Design Engineer I to the Beall/MAC Trailer Team. Our Product Design Engineering is a professional that requires technical skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment. The following are responsibilities and qualifications that are suggested to perform at a high level for MAC Trailer/Beall Manufacturing.

Shift - Days Monday Thru Friday

Salary Range: $48,000.00 - $63,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, model and create assemblies using CAD software.
• Issue and prepare detailed drawings, specifications for shop production.
• Responsible for trailer design development and continuous improvement of existing and
• future products.
• Define part numbers and assembly structures for input into Bills of Materials.
• Determine long lead time items for an advanced bill of materials for purchasing.
• Create and maintain all engineering procedures and documents.
• Engineering support for all internal departments, outside sales and customers.
• Perform and have the ability to carry out basic engineering calculations.
• Determine requirements based on sales specs for overall engineering Product Design.
• Evaluating material cost and strategizing the most cost-effective means for production
• Determine legal requirements based on DOT regulations for final design.
• Confers with research and development and prepares design modifications as required.
• Evaluating material weights to manufacture a durable but light product.

E1 Responsibilities

• Responsible for trailer design development and continuous improvement of existing and future products.
• Define part numbers and assembly structures for input into Bills of Materials. a. Design, model and create assemblies using CAD software.
• Strong Knowledge of SolidWorks
• Create and maintain all engineering procedures and documents.
• May requires an associate degree or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience required. Has
• knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on instructions and
• pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Typically reports to Engineering Manager or head of department.

Dependent upon product type, maximum production levels, and staffing support of each affiliated location’s Engineering department the minimum education and/or experience requirement may vary.

Ranging from:

• A minimum of two years’ experience and/or training.
• A minimum associate degree from a technical college or university.
• A bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common drawings and schematics.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, dealers, sales staff, supporting departments and management.
• Ability to effectively communicate information to top management, coworkers and all parties needing notified.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer skills essential to the position.
• Ability to manage time and multiple tasks at once.

Physical Demands

• Stand and walk long periods of time -Frequent sitting, work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including being physically capable of maneuvering self throughout facility, Operations area, product, and equipment.
