APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, develop, simulate, prototype, experimentally verify, optimize, and produce hardware solutions for thermal and aerodynamic applications. Design and optimize physical hardware using CAD tools and release for manufacture. Demonstrate deep knowledge of fluid mechanics and heat transfer engineering principles to inform design. Build CFD models of hardware and designs, use appropriate meshing and numerical solution schemes. Build prototype hardware and test benches, define lab/production tests, lead test execution to evaluate HW. Present findings and progress to teammates and senior leadership. Own responsibility for end-to-end hardware development and design. Meet regularly with cross-functional teams to lobby for attribute performance of designs. Perform trade studies of hardware options. Write Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) for hardware and designs. Make initial contact with suppliers, manage supplier relationships to develop hardware based on PRDs. Use Keynote, Numbers, iCal, Mail, Pages, Excel, Word, apps. Use CFD and MATLAB software for thermo-fluid modeling and data processing. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300 - $199,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
