Job Description
Producer/Video Editor supports the operation of our client’s Broadcast Operations Center at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) located in Washington, DC. The Broadcast Operations Center delivers news, information, training, and employee development programs to all HUD employees nationwide. This position requires being in person daily.
The work hours may be adjusted by the based-on Department needs and scheduled events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Field produce, shoot, and edit news stories, feature reports, live events, and multi-camera productions
Cut and submit b-roll and sots in addition to packages, ensure timely delivery of all material for use in live programming
Operate cameras, manage bonded cellular live gear and other technologies, lights, mics, editing software
Edit a wide range of assignments and equipment within the editing environment; assignments include but are not limited to video editing and graphic creation, media management, archival media restore and ingest systems, After Effects, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere
Master broadcast, digital and social method workflow, equipment, facility layouts, and troubleshooting practices as they relate to editing assignments
Conduct expert level of quality control and influence the staff in quality control measuring and how to take corrective action to ensure and/or enhance the content
Effectively communicate problem-solving efforts, results, and resolutions
Recommend and integrate new technology and workflows to create accurate and efficient results in specific assignments or future plans
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Associate degree and 5-7 years of experience
Minimum three years of experience in producing and direct live to-air or live to tape multi-camera broadcast events
Demonstrated proficient editing skills in off-line and on-line editing of productions
Proven non-linear hands-on editing skills using an Adobe Creative Cloud or similar non-linear full editing platforms
Proficient in creating graphics and animation products using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and similar graphic software programs used in video production
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment that requires quick turnaround edits
Ability to work independently, manage simultaneous projects, and follow through on assignments
Photography experience desired.
Demonstrated sound communication with timely follow-up and problem-solving
